Nicolas Kendall

Violinist for Time for Three

Friday, October 2 | Noon – Gathering, Lunch & Program to Follow
Meyerson Symphony Center, 2301 Flora St.

We’re excited to kick off a sizzling 2026-27 season, with innovative violinist Nicolas Kendall, a founding artist with the Grammy and Emmy Awards-winning Time for Three (Tf3).

Nick’s diverse career has taken him to such far-ranging locales as Sydney Opera House and Hong Kong Cultural Center, from the Hollywood Bowl to the Schleswig Holstein Festival near Hamburg. His love for music began at age three, after his grandfather John Kendall brought the Suzuki method from Japan to the US in the 1960s. Nick began his music education as a Suzuki kid. Today, he takes his kids’ concerts, “Listen up: Music is a Language”, to communities such as the National Symphony’s Young People’s Concerts (2013-14) and Philadelphia Orchestra’s 2022-23 season of School Concerts. Nick is Artist-In-Residence at Lincoln Center.

His appetite for innovation is shared with the two other members of Tf3 (Charles Yang, Ranaan Meyer), all classically trained performers that present music from classical to bluegrass to rock, jazz and hip-hop. The trio won the 2023 Grammy Award for Best Classical Instrument Solo. They have performed alone and with symphonic chamber orchestras across the USA and in Europe; and in venues such as the Indianapolis 500 and the USS Intrepid. Tf3 will perform the triple concerto, “Contact” (by Kevin Puts) with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra on October 2, 3 and 4.
